These beautiful woodblock print traditional Tibetan prayer flags are Fair Trade guaranteed and handcrafted in Kathmandu. They are used to bring blessings of compassion and the five colours follow traditional Chinese colour theory representing the five elements.
Our prayer flags include an ancient Buddhist (Sanskrit) mantra for compassion:
- Om - the sacred symbol.
- Mani - jewel or bead.
- Padme - lotus.
- Hum - spirit of enlightenment.
The five colours of the flags represent one of the natural elements: water, fire, wood, metal and earth.
